The Department of Electronics & Communication Engineering at Karavali Institute of Technology is not only making available a strong pedestal but also to give exposure about the most modern communication technological trends like mobile technology, Wi-Fi, Wi-Max, Bluetooth, VLSI, Embedded system, Image Processing, Computer Networks necessary to endure in the Industrial Sector. The Department has highly competent and recourses staff.

The department has the best infrastructural facilities with spacious and well furnished Seminar Halls, class rooms, tutorial rooms and laboratories and teaching aids like OHPs, LCD projectors and charts. All the laboratories are very well equipped and managed by well trained and experienced laboratory technicians to impart the best practical oriented training to the students. The department has a spacious library with reference and borrowing books to specifically cater to the needs of pre final and final year students. Top priority is accorded to regular technical seminars, orientation programs, expert lectures, workshops and institute sponsored projects.

An Electronics & Communication Engineer must find new solutions to the practical problems affecting our daily lives. An electronics engineer will work in team with other specialists to design, fabricate, produce, test and supervise the manufacture of complex products and systems i.e. electronic equipments and components for a number of industries including hospitals, computer industry, electronic data processing systems for communication and in defense etc.

They supervise production and manufacturing processes and oversee installation and maintenance. Electronics engineers work with devices that use extremely small amounts of power. They work with microprocessors, fibre optics, and in telecommunication, television, radio etc.

Digital Systems
Digital systems permeate technology in all its forms; the world has gone digital, with digital control, digital communications, and digital computation. Electronics & Communication Engineers design, develop, and manufacture all kinds of digital products, including both hardware and software: laptops, personal computers; mainframes; supercomputers; workstations; virtual-reality systems; video games; modems; telephone switches; embedded microcontrollers for aircraft, cars, appliances, and machines of all types.
Telecommunications
Telecommunications engineering focuses on the transmission of information across a channel such as a coax cable, optical fiber or free space. Transmissions across free space require information to be encoded in a carrier wave in order to shift the information to a carrier frequency suitable for transmission, this is known as modulation.
Signal Processing
Signal processing deals with the analysis and manipulation of signals. Signals can be either analog, in which case the signal varies continuously according to the information, or digital, in which case the signal varies according to a series of discrete values representing the information.
Integrated Circuits, VLSI Design, Testing and CAD
Electronics & Communication Engineers working in this area focus on enhancing the speed, reliability, and energy efficiency of next-generation Very Large-Scale Integration (VLSI) circuits and micro systems, as well as automating the design process. Projects might include low-power VLSI algorithms and architectures, noise-tolerance for VLSI and DSP (digital signal processors), mixed-signal analog IC (integrated circuit) design, MEMS (Micro-Electro-Mechanical Systems) for integrated passive RF (radio frequency) components and electro thermal simulation.
Embedded Systems
Electronics & Communication Engineers working in this area focus on enhancing the speed, reliability, and performance of systems, by means of computer technology - for example, consumer products, and business and industrial machines. Most functions of the modern automobile are controlled by embedded microprocessors. Embedded systems are currently being developed that coordinate systems such as automated vehicles and equipment to conduct search and rescue, automated transportation systems, and human-robot coordination to repair equipment in space.
Semiconductors
The chief enabling technology at the heart of the electronic components booming computer industry is semiconductor technology, in particular the development and manufacture of integrated circuits. As integrated circuits companies strive to search for faster and more powerful chips, they seek engineers to investigate new materials and improved packaging -- engineers who can handle the challenge of competitive pressure and ever-shorter development time.
Communications and Wireless Networks
Electronics & Communication Engineers working in this area may explore wireless communication opportunities to take advantage of new frequency bands and increase the efficiency of current bands. Other areas of focus are design techniques for high speed networks, interference suppression and modulation, design and analysis of fault-tolerant systems, and storage and transmission schemes.
